Cycle-to-Work schemes are the systems set up whereby your employer buys a bike for you, with potentially large tax savings - we’re signed up with both Cyclescheme (for all bikes) and the Halfords Cycle2Work scheme (for Bromptons only). Which scheme you use depends on which one your employer has signed up to. For the DfT’s information on the schemes, see this page. The most important thing to bear in mind is the £1000 limit on the cost of the bicycle - you cannot buy a bike over £1000 and top up the rest yourself, though you can buy a sub-£1000 bike and buy accessories for it yourself. So what will £1000 get you? Most models of Brompton, a Birdy City, a Spirit recumbent and a Koga Infiniti are just some ideas. Your employer will have all the details of what you need for the scheme - if you need a quote, please email me, or just go part-way through the online order process for the bike you want and print out the page. Then you bring me a reference number and I get things under way. |
