Mezzo folding bikes are designed by British designer Jon Whyte - better known for MTB design, but he’s added some clever touches to the Mezzo. Like the Birdy, it has an all-aluminium frame (though without suspension) and folds quickly to a pretty small package, but it has clever self-locking catches and uses the built-in aluminium mudguards as part of the structure. Manufacturers ATB Sales claim you can unfold it in 3 seconds - I’m not sure I believe that, but it’s certainly comparable to the Brompton for folding speed.

There are two models of Mezzo (it’s pronounced “Metzo”, by the way) - the I-4 has a 4-speed Shimano internal hub gear, and the D-9 has a 9-speed derailleur gear. Both have good dual-pivot caliper brakes and kevlar-reinforced tyres, and have mudguards and a rear carrier fitted as standard. Also available is a very clever rear bag, which slots into fittings on the rack, and has a padded laptop compartment and other good-sized pockets. A small cover for the folded bike is also available.

In stock currently, have a black I-4, and silver and blue d-9s - the colour is anodised on for durability, not painted.
