The Seculite Plus has one super-bright red LED, and is designed for mudguard fitting. LEDs never need to be replaced, unlike bulbs, and they are also brighter and a lot more efficient. A standlight system is included - this means that when you stop, the light stays on for about 4 minutes, powered by a capacitor charged from the dynamo. This is a very good safety feature for when you stop at lights - especially for a right turn. The Seculite Plus is lightweight and has a built-in reflector so you don’t need a separate one on your bike. £22, or also available in chrome for £32.
The 4DLite Plus has 4 LEDs - each not as bright as the Seculite’s, but added together they are as bright, and give a wider coverage. This light is also designed for mudguard fitting, and has a protective steel hoop. The 4DLite Plus also has the standlight system, as described above, and is £29.
The Secutec uses a standard 0.6W bulb instead of LEDs for it’s main light. It also has a standlight system, which powers a small red LED when you stop. The Secutec comes in two version so it can fit on the mudguard (£22) or onto the seatstay (£24).
The Toplight is a basic rear light, for attaching to the rear carrier. It has a 0.6W bulb and built-in reflector. £7.50. Seculite Plus - £22
Seculite Plus Chrome - £32
4DLite Plus - £29
Secutec (mudguard) - £22
Secutec (seatstay) - £24
Toplight - £7.50
All the above mudguard-fitting lights can also be fitted to the seatstay or a V-brake boss with a bracket - see the Extras page. All these lights can be powered from any standard 6V dynamo, but are designed to work with the B&M Dymotec range of dynamos. There is a special 12V version of the Seculite Plus, which is only available as part of a kit - see the dynamos page for info. |
