There are three levels of Brompton specification to choose from:

E: The basic specification, with no rear carrier, pump or mudguards.

L: Lightweight - with mudguards and a pump, but no carrier.

R: Stands for rack - with mudguards, pump and rear carrier.

The mudguards are almost essential I think - the rear carrier less so. It’s good for fitting extra luggage on, in addition to the front pannier, and it makes the folded package more stable - but it does add weight.

If you order a Superlight Titanium bike, no matter what the specification,  you don’t get a pump- sorry ;-)
