Herbert wanted a Brompton with the Big Apple tyres – these are 2″ wide but use the smaller 305 wheel size so only work with disc brakes:
It’s now back in Germany, and looking fantastic with matching mudguards and a front motor system:

Do you this conversion would work without disc brakes, ie with caliper brakes with a longer drop and re-modelling of the existing rear triangle?

They’d need to be quite long calipers, but in theory yes.
Thank you. I’ve just realised that the existing fork would also be too narrow for these tyres – so maybe not a practical conversion
