A new thing to experiment with – years ago, Sachs made a Duomatic, and it’s great to see SA resurrect both the idea and the name.
It’s a beautifully simple isea – it’s a two-speed gear with a brake. Back-pedal a little bit, and it changes gear, alternating between the two. Backpedal more, and it brakes. So you have gears and brakes with no cables – perfect for a minimalist commuting bike.
It’s about £80 I think…
