The Alfine 8- and 11-speed rear hubs use a tabbed washer on the axle – this goes on the left side only. It will be a black one like this, or maybe a white one. Then a domed nut goes on.

On the right side, a plain flat washer and a normal nut hold the wheel on.

Then another flat washer and a domed nut are used to attach the tensioner.
